Rhodes Island Prasonisi Rate / Comment this area
Prasonisi is the most southern point of the island of Rhodes, the last stop in a splendid route through the municipality of Southern Rhodes.
Rolling hills alternate between the southern sections of ground and the coast, in a way that lead to a narrow band of sand that depending on the tide is submerged by the sea and divides the ?islet? from the coast.
On the small islet is a lighthouse, a well-preserved building that sends its light to the open sea.
Prasonisi is the Windsurfer's paradise of Rhodes, with visitors from all over the world visiting Rhodes just for Prasonisi, camping on vans, the beach or the few small hotels of the area.
It offers high winds, and rough sea as well as smooth sea at either side of the strip of sand connecting Prasonisi with Rhodes Island.
Picturesque, but keep your camera or other electronic equipment well protected from the thin sand that the wind blows on the beach...
